Hi I’m Mel!

Calling all people who are smarter than I am, I desire to learn from you! Welcome to Literary Christian Meatloaf, a newsletter born out of my desire to interact with books of all kinds, beginning with the classics, from a Christian perspective. I desire to stretch myself and exercise my brain. I welcome people of all backgrounds to participate in the discussion. Join me as I dive deeper than I ever have into classic literature and books written about modern culture from authors who intrigue me.

Why ‘Christian Meatloaf’?

Literary Christian Meatloaf is the partial namesake of my first “baby”—a page on Facebook called Christian Meatloaf. I share everything I find interesting about Christianity on that page, from the Bible to culture to inspiration. I pray daily on the page with anyone who wants to join me—it’s like a big lump of meatloaf! With this newsletter, I desire to exercise my faith creatively, meshing books and Christianity together in a big lump…with ketchup!

A little about myself

I live in Ohio with my husband and three children (15, 13, and 12). I am a proud mom to my amazing and resilient kids. By day, I am a Suicide Prevention Coordinator who is passionate about preventing suicide in my community. By night, I am a student working toward my Master of Divinity in Hospital Chaplaincy. I love people, and I love my two dogs.
